Aussie made B & B Bashplate

G'day fellow tenere ownwers, I have had a few requests regarding the bashplate i have on my tenere from this great site xt660.com
So I thought i'd put up some pictures to give those interested a better idea of their coverage "mainly over the water pump" as these plates can pretty much do away with the pricey yammy engine bars, but they do a 2nd plate for those that want to retain their engine bars if allready owned.

I ended up gluing some marine carpet into my bashy as this reduced the deflected engine noise, it made a noticeable difference.

Looks pretty solid, Regie! Don't the bashplate need drainholes though? Real Aussie craftmanship, good job!

G'day Dallas

The rear of theses plates is fairley open so any slush will make its way out the back (you can view this in the second photo) but i did intend to drill some big holes in it myself before i put the carpet in there... but forgot!
So next time i take it off for a cleaning i will drill 2 holes in it as it will make it easyier for the crudd to get out.

cheers
Reg.

nice, very nice, and it looks sturdy too.

but very expensive !!!

245AUD fir a bashplate ?
90AUD for the rack is fine

180AUD for the stone guard ? that's 120euros/100GBP

Yeah i don't understand why their bashplates for ADV bikes are marginally more expensive then say for enduro bikes, as for enduro bikes they are reasonable price.

But I will say they'll outlast the bike they're on... lol

Cheers for that Reg - I'm interested in this as my slim Touratech one leaves the water pump exposed and I'm not keen on bars. It is expensive but like you say, you don't need to change it every year... Thanks for the marine carpet tip too - the noise coming up at me since fitting the TT bashplate is ridiculous...

I think the bashplate only works out to about 140 thats pretty good especially compared with tourathief:SpinHappy_15XK8L:
