Carole Nash

Had my renewal today, its gone up 4 from last year which makes it 192. This includes 7 years no claims Protected/Full uk and European accident breakdown and recovery/and I've also included Personal Accident, ( I think this is in case I get too excited ahem ).:hcrap: It also includes commuting to work. I was quite happy with the quote and shall probably accept it. :thumbsup[1]:

Carol Nash are good until the moment you need them (i.e. you need to claim).
I had a (non-fault) claim that took more than a year to sort out and Carol Nash had no interest in resolving it or helping me out.
Bunch of crooks, never again will they get my business.
I changed to H&R Insurance who are a pleasure to deal with, but then, I haven't need to claim with them yet (and hopefully won't be), so you don't know until then really.

I've used them for years, always great service and always come up with a competative quote first off. None of this back and forth to get a good price.

Never had to make a claim, but then if it was a non-fault accident I wouldn't use my own insurers.

Aye

I use Footman James. Top quotes.
I do get a discount thru the Lambretta club as I have all my Scooters insured with them but the Ten is on a policy with Vespas aswell and is really cheap.(150) Euro cover and full breakdown annaw.

Worth a try.

I'm sorry, but when I pay for legal support, I like to get something back for my money. If they decide to outsource on a "no win no fee" deal, that's their choice and I still expect some service from them. They take my money, so when I don't get the service I like to complain to them and I don't want to be told that they can't help me because it's not them dealing with it.

As a comparison, when you buy a faulty bike, you take it back to the dealer, even though it's the manufacturer's fault. If you have a problem with your bank account, you complain to your bank branch, not the investment banker who's lent your money and is buying dodgy mortgages with it.
I don't see why insurance companies are any different.

Secondly, when I tried to figure out how much money I was going to back if the claim was settled in my favour (it eventually was, but you loose your NCB as long as the claim is ongoing), the sales person said she couldn't tell me and refused to give me a quote as if I had kept my NCB. None of the other insurers had any problem with that, and H&R were much clearer and seemed to know what they were talking about. I got back exactly the amount they told me I was going to get, the year before.

As I said, they're very friendly on the phone (but then which commission paid sales person isn't?) when they sell you stuff, but that's not when you need them to be most helpful!

Good luck if you ever need them, but I sincerely hope you never have to!!

:respeck:

I wasn't having a go at you, I was rear ended a couple of years ago in the car. I recieved some great advice before notifying the insurance company, the result was that I never involved them. Otherwise I'd have done the same as you. Places like this are great for sharing experiences. What you have said is one point of view, mine is another, there are hundres off them and opinions are never wrong.

Just to add, even when it's not your fault, you are <statistically> more likely to be involved in a similar accident within the next three years. As a result, after a no-fault accident your premiums will go up. Ever wondered why they ask you if you have been involved in an accident on the proposal form ??

Me too. I have to deal with utter morons all the time, and they always know better than I do, but yet they still seek my advice. I don't tend to have many problems resolving things with officious jobsworths, but I think that come from years of practice at dealing with them, and playing thier game, so I guess that has an impact on my perspective.

Well I've just renewed with Carole Nash after a little negotiation, which never hurts me too much.
Went on go compare first which asked me about modifications to the bike such as, exhausts/air filter/luggage before I got prices. This got me thinking because when I first got the bike nothing had been done mod wise, and I wanted to be sure I did have the right cover.
Anyway rang them up and spoke to a very nice lady, and got the price down to 153 from 192. This includes Breakdown/No claims protection/personal accident etc, so quite happy now.:026: :Gangsta2_9BI664: :seasaw::icon_thumright:

Carole Nash quoted me an inclusive Breakdown policy and Legal aid.

I didnt want those bits....so ended up with Bennetts, about 40 cheaper.

Carole Nash didnt quote me the best price to start with....it took alot of playing one quote off another......
