i use the tutoro and just turn the oiler on every so often during a ride and works a treat. find 1 1/2 turns out is just fine for a slow drip thats all req'd.
ie 1 every 60 seconds. i stiffened the delivery tube using a coat hanger as out dear RTW rider scott did. but he used i think the loobman system. |
keep the replies coming, plenty of good stuff :)

I used to have a Chaintec system years ago (gravity fed-movement activated).
Must look into getting another system as my Ten needs a new chain again after only 22,000 miles!! |
22000 miles is very good in my book, I'm happy when C&s last more than 10k/13k km.
Tutoro has been voted Ride Best buy last month too :) |
yeah a lot of green laners use the soap bottle technique. I have a loobman fitted but it is a bit messy and the tutoro ? looks a lot neater the only problem is that since it was featured in Ride magazine it is nearly always sold out.
I emailed the guy and he says if you want one he normally re stocks the site at night so either later night or early and you should be able to get one. Is there much of an advantage to fitting the double sider. Obviously the oil drips onto the chain and lubricates the chain to sproket interface - prolonging chain and sproket. so i take it the single sider will work fine and that the doubler is just a little more efficient ? |

http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...00201-1414.jpg where did you get these "cable tie holders on the swingarm to keep the cable tie in place as the swingarm narrows towards the end."

you can find them in any motor factor or probably some DIY/electrical stuff shops ? |
Oiler....
On the strength of this thread I just bought a TUTORO oiler to see what's what.
At the end of the day if it turns out to be no good there was never any big expense incurred. I'll fit it tomorrow and see what way it turns out. I'll put chain saw oil in the reservoir and see how that works. :) |
