Hi folks.
I am also impressed..!! but I just want to add one comment besides the skills of the pilot , is interesting to notice how good is our machine, how good is the frame of ou TEN.how stable and predictable... Do not try to do it with a bmw gs ... we ride a really good machine...that comes from the rally raid machines... Jaume |
How come I never saw this movie before?
A little background: The rider is a guy called Eli Fangas. He works as a writer in several magazines here in Israel, and as a riding instructor in one of the 2 riding schools here. He's one hell of a rider, especially when considering the fact that he started riding when he was in his mid twenties (about 10 years ago). He got the Ten only about a month and a half ago- he traded his old Africa Twin for it. A smart publicity move from the Yamaha representative in Israel, as Eli is regarded quite a role model around these parts. Eli is responsible for one of the most terrifying experiences on my life: During a riding course that I did a couple of weeks ago, he took me for a spin on my bike. It wasn't amazingly fast (about 30 KPH) but during corners, my heart was in my throat. In fact, the only time I was closer to the asphalt, was when I crashed. :tongue1: http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/9391/bar5855.png Here's a road test he did on the F800gs (no audio, but it was in Hebrew anyway :-P ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiaO8...layer_embedded |
hi, thanks for the background on the rider, until i had seen that i thought i was leaning it in! to see a chap in trainers backing it into a corner like that, you know he has talent.
does he race? |
Actually, he doesn't race.
But that's because that officially, there's no racing in Israel. We're probably the only country in the world that motosports of any kind are not legal. He used to race in the local underground supermoto league, and was close to take the 1st place in 2005. All he needed to do was to finish the last 2 races of the season. But as things go, he crashed he's bike on the public road and spent 8 months recovering. He joined the 2006 season at the second round. It just so happens, that he had a helmet camera on him for that race (ignore the Hebrew commentary). The action start at 0:55, with the starting of the qualifying. Eli started on the 11th place on the grid (one before last) and finished first. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf9ia...layer_embedded |
ace photo, after watching the two vids I am kinda hopeful that I may be this good soon as I also pick my nose !
backing it in on the Ten looks the ******** :family::notworthy[1]: |
I tried this once and came away with a qualification certificate in the art of drifting........
