I changed from Bennets last year. They had just sent me a renewal quote which had gone up a bit from the previous year, but when I told them I was swapping my xjr for a xt they said it would be a bit more because it was a more modern bike.:076: When I asked for a cover note or a e-mailed policy to the bike shop for taxing purposes, they said "we dont do that. Your policy will be delivered 7 to 10 days".:bricks: Anyway I swapped to Carole Nash which saved me 70 and the policy was e-mailed to the shop within the hour. Great Service, will see what the renewal is this year.:BaseballHat_LNY2EG:

Hi,
i first insured my 600Tenere with Bennetts, 78 i think it was. Very next year it was over 130. Changed to Ebike.
Next insured the XT660 with Bennetts, good price. The next year again they tried to clobber me with double the money. Changed to Ebike again. I even called Bennetts and told them about the lower offer but all they said was to go with that one then.
Seems to me that Bennetts like to lure you in with a good premium and then wack you. Not everybody shops around for insurance and often they will get away with it.

Was insured with bennetts but hated not speaking to a proper english speaking person and also they claimed not to do mulit bike policys so i told them where to go. When to rampdale who where good till i had an accident then they didnt want to know me, at the moment with MCE who are not smiles better, had to give them all my details about 6 times as they lost it, put down the wrong information etc then when i found out they where the cheapest turns out the lady put in the wrong date by 3 days and they tried to charge me 100 extra, so i had to change the date on my renewal which meets it now just before the end of the month.

Bennetts=cr*p
Rampdale= good but dont crash
MCE= cr*p

This seems to be the same story with most insurance firms they expect you to change every 12 months to a different provider. I think if you look at the risk involved if they offer you a low premium for the first year and you don't claim the chances that you may claim in the second year rise considerably.

This may be ballcocks but its just my theory and I change every 12 months and it saves me 100's every year with 2 cars and 2 bikes house etc.

That is just the way it works these day's there are no bonuses for loyalty.

You are all correct about Insurance companies charging a lot more 2nd year. What I do with my car insurance is wait for the renewal, then do a price comparison check on line. When the company I'm with on-line are a lot cheaper, I ring them up to find out why. Then I usually get passed to their loyalty department and hey I stay with them for another year. Bit of a pain but if you're with a decent company they will want your business, and I've saved over 100 on my 2 cars policies last year.:family:

I check quotes and almost inevitably end up changing insurers most years for both the car and bike.
But what mystifies me is how come it's cheaper to insure the XT, which has a value of 3000 Comprehensively, than it is to insure the 500 Peugout 106 TPFT? Around 110 for the XT and 170 for the car! Weird! 10+ yrs ncb on both, had my bike licence 10 yrs longer than my car licence but i've had the car licence 15 yrs so i don't think it's that.

Its because you can do more damage with the car, and you could be carrying 3 or 4 passengers that might want to sue as well. What a nice thought.blowup

Possibly because out of all the models of cars that company insures, pug 106's (young new drivers) have quite a high proportion of accidents (compared to other cars they insure), whereas your bike insurance company may not have paid out for xt's as high a proportion of all of the claims they deal with.

I think the company's past experiences play a part in the quote price?

I think that makes sense!?
