Ok here's my Shark. Been really happy with it. Dont know a lot about the design. I bought it off a good mate who had scared himself badly on his RSV Aprillia, and decided to give the bike up before he did some serious damage to himself. The helmet was only a couple of months old at the time and fitted me perfectly. :ytiller:

Even at -3C it keeps me warm and the XTX is not doing 130Km/h (yet). At 120 the nioselevel is not so high as expected. So very pleased :) |
Arai for me - on and off road..

Helmets
I have a Arai Tour X 3 which I use most of the time. I also have a Shoei Patriot XR1000. The Arai suits trail / enduro riding on the XTR better with the peak but it is not as quiet as the Shoei. IMHO.

I've finally retired my TourX (original version) which I've had since 2002, its been my fav helmet even though I've tried a few others over that time and have in storage an XR1000, multitech 2 and a roof full face jobbie.
After much good reports elsewhere I've picked a Shoei Hornet and !st impressions are it feels supremely comfortable. Interestingly it has a clear pinlock (clear visor) which is marked for daytime use only, I'd previously thought it was only the tinted pinlocks that rendered clear visors daytime use only. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a84...6/IMG_0148.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a84...6/IMG_0155.jpg |
I have also just picked up a Hornet Sonara in fantastic matching colours to my jacket and bike :)
http://www.fc-moto.de/WebRoot/FCMoto...Sonora-TC8.jpg Too early to give a detailed review but I am loving it so far. Never had a lid with a shield before and have to keep your head angled down a bit over about 70ish. Extremely light compared to my old version Caberg Justissimo and also extremely comfortable. Oh and I was told the reason its marked for daytime use only is it can give a bit of glare from headlights - hence the over the top 'health & safety'!! |

My custom painted semi-retired HJC FS-10.
I use it now only when my Arai Tour-X is being washed. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_h_hIYKggHWM/S5.../PHOTO1237.jpg http://lh6.ggpht.com/_h_hIYKggHWM/S5...lNQ/Skull2.jpg |

Bought this one off e-bay when I bought my last bike. Liked the graphics and the price was ok. Takes a LOT of wind up your chin which makes a lot of noice. Fit is pretty good but that noice makes me want another one... /Joel |

Airoh Terminator is the helmet i use mainly for off road. At 270 it's not cheap but 950gr of premium materials and amazing ventilation make a huge difference at the end of the day.

Airoh S4...
Had mine 5 years. I wanted a Moto-X style full-face helmet with a peak, but I wanted a visor (more convenient than goggles). The Arai TourX was out of my price range, so the Airoh S4 ticked the boxes for me. Pro's: Light, comfortable and looks good (IMHO). Plus I can comfortably wear glasses/shades with it. Good price, good build quality (not quite Arai standard but good nonetheless). Removeable and washable lining. Con's: As mentioned by other users, there's an annoying whistle if you close the visor fully, but cured by easing it open by a mm or so. The peak is handy against sun glare, but tends to lift the lid at 70mph+ so you have to tilt your head down slightly at speed. Got a picture to upload (mine's silver/red) but sorry, haven't figured out how to upload pictures yet! (newbie member). :icon_redface: Link will have to suffice for now... http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motor...airoh-helmets/ |
