Dragon rally 2010

anyone going,im still waiting 4 ticket to arrive but should be there

steveD 08-01-10 10:38

Me of course and Tricky and Mark (clowncrusty) and a host of others that you have met at Dent. Come up to Llanberis for the Friday night. I have booked the bunkhouse there. We all meet up there and then go on to the Dragon on the Saturday. Spare bed and bedding available, @ 12 for the night and a biker friendly pub next door and you can get good food either at Pete's Eats down below or Chinese next door but two. How about that!:SpinHappy_15XK8L:

tripletom 08-01-10 10:47

Yup, got a bunch heading up from the south Johnno, see you there? Steve, sure I'll see you again.

Yes Johnno, no problem just pay when you get there. Most of the group aim to get there in daylight, but basically suit yourself.

Just a quick note to say that I have organised the Bunkhouse at Llanberis for the Friday night. We have a bit of a bsh there on the evening and then go on to the Rally on the Sat morning. There are as I type two places left if anyone wishes to meet up with us at Petes' Eats. @12 per person and the supply bedding, makes it easier not having to tent up on the first night. Goiod accommodation , showers and drying room etc. Post here and I'll monitor if any takers.

Cheers SteveD:112:

I got as far as Dolgellau on the friday, then had to come back and go to hospital on the saturday with chronic abdominal pain. Properly miffed.

uberthumper 08-02-10 17:29

Yep, did about 500 miles over the weekend on everything from motorways to dirt tracks. Started off on thursday night with a blast down to tripletom's, then up to Dolgellau on Friday before continuing on to the rally on Saturday.

I'll get some of my photos up here when I'm not at work, but in the meantime here's a couple of Tom's that he's posted elsewhere...

Me attempting to extricate the Ten' from a muddy verge after having to dodge a logging truck down a very narrow single track somewhere in mid-Wales:

And a pair of Ten's. Note the width of the track, and compare it in your mind to the width of an articulated lorry. That's why we were in the verge:

Tom's weekend didn't quite go so well, but I'll leave him to tell you about that. [Edit: and he already has while I was typing that, the sneaky ****er]

maxwell123455 08-02-10 20:24

Being desperate to find some bends after the motorways/autobahns on the Elefant & Tauerntreffen trips, I Think I got a little over enthusiastic on the way back home and scraped something on a left hander somewhere near Evesham!

I haven't had a good look yet but I think it was either a footpeg or the side stand. Likely to be a combination of having had the Ten lowered by 50mm and all the luggage (and my weight!).

I took it a little easier after this!

Cracking Dragon. Couldn't have asked for better weather and the venue was spot on.

Don't worry, I'm sure my gingerness will be about to haunt your horizon soon enough. Been referred to hospital for tests so fingers crossed. Just so bloody mad it was this weekend that it went off.

Zim1 09-02-10 20:24

Hopefully will see in the lake districs sometime Tom, when the weather gets better....
Glad you got home safe Simon. After the all the miles you have done in the last couple of weeks, it would have been a shame to drop it on the way home from the Dragon...
After our stop at the garage for breakfast/lunch, we went round a roundabout that was damp and i had this chicken strip thing in my head and lost my front wheel but didnt drop it, needed to change my pants tho.. Also took it easy after that.

Blimey - Where's the Ten' gone?

theclowncrusty 15-02-10 16:26

I am a great beleiver in "you never know...." but when you are my size evreything get that bit bigger and it all adds up. I will be the first TEN with 10inch wide ARD cases soon so it all should fit on a bit neater. A lot of the stuff is light but bulky, tarp, air bed and such. Plus there is a LOT of me to squeeze on there as well. Have washed the bike for the first time in 2 months today, came up great under all that ****e... Scottoiler 365 anti corrosion stuff seems to be doing the job. Will be at Cropton the weekend so may see some of you there......
