rear tyre widht in XTX

What do you think of the wider tire on the rear wheel? I would like to buy a 170/60/17 and I do not know whether there will be problems with rubbing on the chain? or other problems...

Had a 170 on my xtx when I bought it and there were no issues with it. I've gone back to a 160 and it handles better with this size on.

A wider rear tyre effects the front end geometry, it will not handle as well in the tight corners.

Did you go for the 170/60/17 raczek? im considering it myself but would like to know if you had any problems once they were fitted.
Is 170 the largest size possible on a set of excels?

Did about 1000 miles with the 170 on and didn't rub or any issues like that. It just handles better with a 160 on it. You'd probably be able to get a 180 on the rim but it would muck the handling up even more than a 170.

So you like yes? And hows the bike look? meaner? im a proper fan of bike cosmetic surgery so am interested in how it looks from the rear. any chance of photos? and what make tyre did you go for?

Can anybody give me a good make of tyre and link or images for constant road use in size 170/60/17 please?
Thx

What does the ZR bit mean in this tyre size ?
170/60ZR17 DUNLOP QUALIFIER 2 II REAR TYRE NEW

And do you think these will fit my XTX excel wheels?

Maranji had the normal dunlop qualifiers on his bike so im assuming the D qualifiers II will fit mine.
here is an image on his which is what i want on mine

Would the wider 170 tyre on the excels be more suited to a bigger guy. Im only using the bike for road, but I do tend to take it through some tight corners from time to time.
If so what tyre choice would you reccoment in the 170 range? She's currently got a Pilot from memory.
Cheers Griz.

'Z' is the speed rating (240kph+?), 'R' for radial construction.
