Random spur from loom

Dear all,

During a quick fiddling session discovered a small spur projecting from the loom, complete with small plug on the end, behind the plastic cover that you remove to get to the side light bulbs beneath the instruments. Whats this for? Is this a spare spur for auxillary instruments? I will run a metre over it to see when its live later today but was wondering if anyone knew what is was for.

Cheers

It's live with the side light circuit... some people thought it was for factory heated grips? Not sure as the fuse might not be enough for those (10 amp on that circuit)...

You can use it for a GPS or something like that if you wanted? And before you ask, no, I don't know where you can get the corresponding other half of the connector from...

It is an auxiliary connection for an alarm, all xt's have 'em

Cheers for that. Easy enough to change the connector so sort of handy to have it. GPS is the most obvious use given the position of it and the power draw of GPS.

Thanks
