We used rivited links, and changed the chain once. However since then I have used a comination and as long as you had a good quality split link ans make sure its located well, they work fine

Thanks for that.....

After a certain length of time with my O ring chains (I prefer split links) I can take the chain off frequently,at home and soak in a basin of chain saw oil...hang up to drip dry and then install)

Good to know there's no conflict with chain rollers etc....
