Yamaha Luggage Locks

Hi,
I am the new member who turned up at the Ace only to find my Top box had come undone yet again! Thanks to everyone for their help and advice. Visited my local dealer, Webbs of Lincoln, they replaced ALL the locks under warranty, diamond geezers!! No problems so far, touch wood, keys look superior quality too!

Glad you got it sorted, you don't really want that box coming off when you're bombing it down a motorway!

As a side note my lock started getting very stiff recently (I've had it 10 months now) and getting the key out was getting troublesome. Visited my dealer who said they normally squirt bike locks with a bit of chain lube which does the trick so recommended that. Gave it a go and hey presto to lock works like new again. Aparently the mechanic I spoke to used to do this every week with his own bike when it was being used in all weather so will have to see how long the effect lasts for.

Yes please! my panniers are one week old, and I've almost sheared one of my keys off.

I for one, would be interested in a foto of the most recent (better quality) keys. Just to see what I've been given.

Had my locks changed last week after nearly 18 months of use, seem much better....

Hi folks,

I bought my top box 2nd hand on eBay. What can I do to have my locks changed ? Do I need to speak to Yamaha or will any dealer do it ?

I found mine had unlocked itself last weekend and so I don't want to loose the box.

I presume you meant LUBE Dave ! :)

I'll check out Alpos Panniers. They do look great value for money.
