Cans, Fuel and Air.
Hey All,
after months of dithering I've decided to fit a set of Leovinces to my '07r but I have a couple of questions. 1) Do I need to fit an air filter will the bike run ok with pipes alone? and 2) If I do need a filter how do i go about evening up the fuel air mixture to compensate for the increased air flow? I think I read somewhere on the site that the lamda sensor won't do this on it's own and I don't wan't to fit a power commander I don't have the funds. last time I done this was on my old carbed Harley, this fuel injection malarkey too much for me! Thanks. T. |

If you do get one you dont have to get any thing to change the fuelling really but it is adviced to get something. Youve 2 options really 1. A Power commander, which as you said is highly expensive 2. Get a fuel kev mod. Basically a resistor that is linked to the electrics to trick the ECU into allowing a different setting/amount of fuel in throughout the rev range allowing you to fine tune the amount of fuel needed. And good bit is its alot cheaper. have a search of the forum and you will soon find alot of information on it. |
Thanks Maxwell, I'll go for the stage 1 air filter. If I do eventually fit a stage 2 I'll buy the fuel mod from Kev.
