changing wiring loom

it seems the only way to cure the surging on my 07 r, is to change the wiring loom to an 06 or earlier.
Is there anything i should check or need before buying second loom and ecu?
I spoke to dynojet last week who told me they should have a cure for 07/08 bikes by the end of the year, thats fine but by the time its had a custom downlod it,ll be over 400, i can buy a lot of fuel in russia for that.@40p lt.

I understand where you are coming from. Dyno jet like me thought we were close to a cure for the 07 XT's. They have also hit some hurdles & are still working on a cure, I am still in correspondence with Dyno Jet UK. We now have a new forum member from Dyno Jet USA on Board, I am sure he will introduce himself later. A power commander with a custom dyno fuel map will improve things, but it will not cure your problem of surging, the O2 sensor is still a problem for the 07/08 models in the closed loop circuit.

If you want to get rid of your surge once & for all, you will need a 04/06 wiring loom & a 01 ECU with a fuelling device. http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=8478

Thanks kev,i m undecided now whether to change the loom or buy an earlier bike.
Its a real shame that yamaha didn,t get the fuelling right on these later bikes.

I could not get my 07 XTX fuelling right with all my engine mods, even with a PCIII & many hours of tuning on the dyno with Tunelink software. The problem lies with the Yamaha software not the PCIII. That's why I back dated my wiring loom & ECU (pre O2 sensor), the PCIII now has full control over the fuelling.

I would wait a few months to see if Dyno Jet are able to come up with a O2 simulator.

:partyondude:There are many 07/08 riders waiting for a fix.
