Chain & sprockets
1 Attachment(s)
It's time to change the chain on my bike. The O-rings start to come out :sick[1]:
I assume it's best to change the sprockets at the same time? Any recommendations on what chain & sprockets to get? I'm not going to be able to fit it myself, so anybody have any suggestions for a decent ride in/out place in London. I've been told that the kit that FWR does is pretty good ( http://www.fwr.co.uk/chains.htm), but don't know if it's a good choice for the XT. |
Trust me on this one Dries....
order them from B&C Express http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/ http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/cgi-bi...OAD&nav=Yamaha go for the one below

You can't go wrong with FWR. THe bloke who runs them i know from trackdays and is an ex BSB level rider, very good guy and LOVES motorbikes, can often be found riding to Southern Spain on his bikes. (Including his Desmosedici)
If you wanna chat to him, got to www.therevcounter.com and register, his name is d55ave From a buying as a supply only, http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/cgi-bi...?cat=HB-FATBAR B&C are the kings with exceptionally quick turnaround and great service. |
Thanks for a quick reply from both :)
I got my last tyre from FWR, and quite like the shop. Just wasn't sure if the sprocket/chain kits they do are right for the XT as I couldn't find a reference of anybody using them on the XT (searching here and other forums). Thanks for the recommendation, Capt. When ordering online, where would you have it fitted though? I really don't want to risk attempting myself. |
I know a very cheap mobile mechanic that comes to fit it outside your house with his van. He is part of our XT Supporters discount scheme....
under this link http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=1945 Look for Bike Tyres on Two Wheels, his name is Paul very reasonable prices |
I would only buy a X ring chain for a XT660
