Air horn

OK so after having two near death experiences with cars changing lanes and me blasting? no thats not right peeping my pathetic horn I've ordered a Stebel Nautilus compact air horn. Hopefully it will scare the **** out of any car driver that has scared me first.

Listen to this badboy.

Nice one Pete.

I fitted one soon after i got the Tenere, Fits lovely where the standard horn was, Loud as F**k. Wakes the sleepy car drivers up:HappyRoll_ANPIUI:

Thats good I was hoping it would. What about the relay and wiring?
Is it a Battery live and earth plus the existing horn wires?

Edit; nevermind I found a Wiring Diagram for fitting.

i put mine on but took it straight off again,i found it sits to close to the exhausts and the plastic was red hot after 2 mins of idle.

I have an air zound horn bit messy compared to the nautilus but very loud and recharges from a pump or compressor :)

I bought a Stebel 'Compact' but its HUGE and sticks out too much for my liking. I ended up changing it for the Stebel Magnum and fitting it. Much more compact and less noticable.

I agree, it sticks a bit too much for my liking too.
And I do not like the opening to be at the front like this, too much risk of receiving crap front the front wheel :/

I installed a pair of stebel magnum on my VFR.
No room behind the fairing so they went on the front fork.

Im also thinking of getting a bigger horn, what do you guys recommend?

banksy 12-01-10 20:45

I've fitted a Stebel Magnum to my Tenere, Had one before on my 1150gs too, Nice and compact but good and loud! Makes car drivers think your a truck! :unibrow:

Nelis 12-01-10 22:07

Got any pics?

I also drive offroad, so its likely to get covered with mud.
Hope it wont damage the horn

just paypal-ed for one of these toys :D

Bought mine from Halfords, its a simple horn with a trumpet. Not too big and effective enough.
Only problem is that water gets in due to the location so I had to drill a small drain hole where the horn connects to the trumpet - sorted. Not as good as a truck but as good as a car. Uses the same fittings too.

Hm, in order to mount it this way, the heat shield most go. And I really dont want to remove that little heat shield...
Ideas?

Nelis 20-02-10 21:46

Touratech has a horn repositioner, but i dont know whether the Stebel will fit at that spot.

stege 23-02-10 00:14

Stebel Nautilius Compact is 3 times larger than the OEM horn. So touratech is out of the question. Ive sold my horn and I'll order a Stebel Magnum, it fits like a glove!

I've fitted 2 on my VFR, just above the calipers on the front fork :D

stege 23-02-10 08:41

Thanks zOU!
