(Bear) Kev 'ave a serious word with your postie, I have just tracked your item through the post office website and this is what it says:

Track & Trace
Results We have tried to deliver your item from our PETERBOROUGH Delivery Office before 14:23 on 08/10/09 and we have left a while you were out card.

It turns out the item was not lost but it is held at your local post office for you to collect with the receipt I have sent you in a pm. Supposedly the "while you were out" card was never found?

Good luck

My bling has turned up now thanks to Fran :winner:
The postman is a lazy fat arse lier who did not put a card through my door to say it had been taken back for collection

CaptMoto 17-10-09 12:01

So it's a 100% success story, none of the 20 has been reported as lost. And despite the c*ck up with the Tenere screws (soon to be received and passed on to the 4 poor chaps) which was not my fault but ze german'z I am quite pleased that all has gone as according to plan as possible...

I have a problem now...

What do I do with one extra bling plate which I have ordered and paid for thinking that the original was lost (also on its way from Deutscheland) that says :660: and Bear underneath?

Is anyone else here that wants to pretend to be Bear? I wanna be like youuu, walk like you ... etc? You get the point (Jungle Book song) lol

HELP!!!

Special One Off Bing Sale!!

Hi guys I have one left over bling plate to fit over the brake reservoire on the XTX / XTR.

This was double ordered when we thought Bear's one was lost in the ****ing post, as you know these would normally cost 15, I'll let you have it for 10 free delivery worldwide. Take it off me, go on! it's only a tenner!

Who knows maybe you can put a small sticker on the BEAR lettering or smooth it out with the old dremel kit.

Here's a pic of it

Oh a subtle hint for a picture huh... :)

I think you need to get out there and recruit another XT-Riding-Bear, simplest answer to the Bling-surplus!

I am posting them to you all today, once again sorry for this misshap, and hopefully this will conclude this rather eventful transaction.

Wait... don't hold me on that! There's a postal strike today grrrr.

Screws arrived today.

Same length as screws that are too short. (same screws)

I think my plate will be going into the bin shortly.

Thanks anyway Capt I know its all out of your control.
I will sort something out on my own. I think I have a couple of 6" nails kicking around.

CaptMoto 24-10-09 14:09

Are you kidding? I am going to murder that German xxxt!!!

Wait till I phone him on monday. I am effing pissed now. I am spending untold money on postage for the wrong item this is not cool

CaptMoto 24-10-09 14:52

Stinky Pete and the other 3 Tenere owners, please note I've just put the phone down with Otto Von BoIIox and he reckons these ARE the correct length screw, only they are thicker than the wrong ones he originally sent, right? Please at least try them and see if they fit if not I will go to an iron monger and get them done myself.

Stinky Pete 24-10-09 15:20

Dont worry about it Capt. you have run around enough on this already.
The fitting instructions do say that I should file/sand off all the raised lettering on the cover. Not exactly what I want to do. This will drop the height the new cover sits by a mil. but I'm still not happy having my brake fluid cap being held by 1-2 threads only. Plus the cover has that writing for a reason be it my info or next owner. I will get something sorted out myself.

scoobie_007 24-10-09 17:13

I'm with you on this one Stinky. Ive pm'd you Capt with my sentiments, again...thanks for all your hard work.

Original screw thread length is 12.65mm + 2.02mm for plate new screws need to be 14.65mm +/- that is threads only not including taper for head of screw.
If you include 1mm for raised writing then 15.65mm +/-

See above scoobs this may help you when you look for new screws.
