Head light globe!!???!!???
 

Hi all XT 's! I own a Xt 660 R 06' , i have it for about 9 months and i had to change the head light globe for the 4th time tonight! And i can't seem to find the solution to my problem! the globe is a Osram 12V 60/55W H4 U. Is the watts to high? Should it be a H2? this is unusual to me! Any info? plz guys! going on a trip saturday for 8 days long! yippeeeeeeeee!

The light bulb you use is the correct one, these bikes use the H4 if it keeps on blowing is not the bulbs fault but there must be something in the loom that is causing a short somewhere along the line.

You need to remove the tank and follow the loom to check it for corrosion or shortage.

Are you touching the bulbs glass when you fitted the bulbs?

No i didn't touch the bulb. the bulb lasts up to 3 months, then it just stops, and first the brights fail and only dims work and then not long the dims also fail.
