Givi screen fitted - pics
Hello all,
I've been looking around for a taller screen and information seems to have been a bit scarce so I hope this helps anyone else in the same situation. Cheers for the pics, very helpful. Definitely interested to hear how you get on with it. I'm only 5'9" but the buffeting is getting tiresome on my commute.

Can you turn the handlebar ok with the wider windshield or does it hit the grip protector? Because the original yamaha grip protectors almost touch the original windshield.

Look's smart and with it being made by Givi i suspect the quality is very good.:102:.

Having returned from the lakes down the A1 i hated the double vision caused by the vibration of turbalence at 80/85mph
can you confirm you have a more cleaner less turbalent ride with this screen. because if i did a long journey like this again i think i'll be a juddering w r e c k .. |
I did a 420km run yesterday, mostly highway with strong winds, and no problems whatsoever with turbulence, the Tenere was stable and solid, doin' 120kmh. Lucky me! The shield is just perfect as it is, for me(I'm 1.93m). So I'll stick to it.

OK the screen. Better, although I became much more aware of the airflow coming up from the tank area by the forks, which still caused some helmet peak vibrations. However...yesterday at work I picked up some sort of giant bubble wrap that consists of large bubbles of about 8" x 3" on a roll. I tore off two lots of seven of these and rolled them up and stuffed them in the two areas between tank and forks and I have to say it's made a massive difference. No vibrating helmet peak, just a little more noise from the engine which I guess is a result of the turbulance and noise being reduced. Can now happily cruise at 80-90 even with my visor fully open.

These are the 'bubble wrap things' that seem to virtually eliminate my turbulace when coupled with the Givi screen. Two minor problems though, 1) being that full lock at slow speeds is slightly reduced but this is generally at a slow speed anyway so not too much of a drama and 2) turning the bars on say a fast bend increases the size of the gap and I need to tape them in as one came out at speed.
